Of God and Games
So this actually has nothing to do with god but rather I have become a bit of a gaming addict again. I have so much stuff thats needs to get done I guess I get overwhelmed and kind of shut down a bit. Its a constant struggle to not play any games. The ones I have been playing (and curse the companies that made them so addictive.) are Company of Hero's skirmish mode for my WWII fix, Fallout 3 DLC (good news here is all the DLC have been completed and I finished them all) and for some reason I have gone naustalgic for some classic games like magic the gatherings shandalar, some old WWII games like panzergeneral 3D. Anyways, I'm getting mad at myself for the self indulgance and now I have to buckle back down If I want to get work somewhere. So that being said I'm going to post some new images of where I'm up to with my Model.

Suit UP!!
Ok not so much a suit as it is me just sitting in my office in my gitch...Hahahah, not really , there is no gitch....Blah. Anyhow after taking sometime away from the 3D realm I'm back to work on stuff. I was whoafully dissapointed about a missed job opportunity a while back but hey thats the nature of the beasrt right. Anyways here is a small update on my current (current as in this year)model that I'm working on. Its more of what is shown below.

Armor Time
So I have been working on the armor for the new model that as you can plainly see I have been working on. So far its fairly low rez, nothing much in the way of bevels or anything. I will up rez it later, I plan to take into Zbrush and do some hard surface (or at least attempt to) sculpting to see how well I can get it to come out. I also want to explore using spec maps and other texturing maps to get more bang for my buck, I also feel its good to know how to do them properly. ANy how here is the progress thus far.

Right back at it
So with only a small delay (recover time) I'm back to the model I was starting b4 the4 dominance war. I did the head for it yesterday and I tried a new way of modeling it. I think it cam out pretty good and although its a longer modeling process (or maybe not considering the box modeling method had me restarting about 5 times) I used poly planes and did many....MANY.....edge extrusions. Anyhow here are the results, first the head on its own and then I attached it to the original torso I have done.

Dominance War IV.......Crunch Time is Over
Well It was hard going and I learned alot over the last little while about my work process and where it can be improved.
I also got the hang of a few new apps that are pretty major for the gaming industry, infact they are pretty standard now for most of the industry and its good to know. One of them being Zbrush, the other is the normal mapping genius of an app Xnormal.
I'm not likely going to even place in the top 50, there are some incredible pieces that have been produced by people. I am however very happy with the results considering my expertise level going into this comp. So here are the final Images (not in any particular order)

Dominance War IV
Ok so I'm pretty sure I already said that I was going to try to balance both models at the same time, well it might happen it might not, regardless I have made some progree on the Cygnar Commander, I have also started concepting for my entry to the Dominance War and so far(provided I put pen to paper) this is what I have.

Work Has Begun
So here is my first update for this particular project, Not much but I got in a few hours the other day and I gout the staff weapon base mesh done. I plan to hold off on Zbrush until I get at least the upper torso done.
I'm going to use a different method of modeling this time, With fett I just did eveything on the surface, if It was underneath armor or something for the most part I didn't model it, that route gave me a few issues in the rigging department.
This Time I'm doing the whole body as one piece also, rigging an upper and lower torso with the skinning was a bit of a nightmare. It was a chellenge to keep the body from pulling apart in places. A single body should be more uniform. Anyhow this is what I have accomplished thus far. I don't know how quick this model may be as the 12th of this month has Dominance War IV starting and I might throw in my hat on that. We'll see.

On the New
Well can't say I'm not a little dissapointed, I was hopeing my latest Demo Iteration would have gotten me in somewhere.Alas tis not so.......Booo.....Well that means that I must move on to something new. Hmmmm. I really enjoy the look of PrivateerPress's stuff (they deal in miniature gaming) and I have been eyeing one of thier figures for some time. I'm hoping it will fullfill a few different requirements.
1: I have a few Hard surface type models on the reel already so this will be something a bit more organic.
2: Its a female to which I have none, there is also a fair amount of drapped cloth which should be a challenge.
3: I already have a mini form PrivateerPress, the Castigator, and this next model is of the same faction, I could in turn do 2 models from another faction later and then actually animate some sort of cobat sequence donw the road.
So with all this in mind here is what the mini looks like.

DemoReel Update!!
Holy smoking crab cakes batman it's finally here. Well I have more stuff that is in the works but here is an updated version of my Modeling Reel. I have also added in some rigging snippets and a touch of animation. I hope you all like it and let me know what you think by leaving a comment or two.

NewYear Hub Bub
Well its the new year and I'm still working on my fett model. I'm in the process of rigging and finding all the gaps that need to be filled and or bugs that need to be fixed, man what an arduous portion to 3D. Don't get me wrong I love rigging but everytime I do it there is a thousand and one things that I find I have to improve for my next model, of which I think I never remember any of them. Any ways since I havn't posted in a while here is the fully textured fett. I'm by no means a wicked texture artist but I think I'm getting much better now.
